The 15th edition of Pure Talents Contest is open for entries and the deadline for young design talent to submit their prototypes goes until the 29th of September of 2017. The registration for the young designer’s competition is free of charge.

The Pure Talents Contest, organized by Koelnmesse, has been showing for the last 14 years the work of young designers and giving the nominated ones to show their ideas at the imm cologne, not only to furniture manufacturers but also to entrepreneurs and the public.

In this year’s application form each participant could submit a maximum of three products in the following categories: furniture; home accessories; lighting; flooring; wallpaper and textiles; kitchens and kitchen’s accessories and smart home. The entries will be examined by the good eye of a jury of designers, design expertise journalists and experts form the interiors industry. At this year’s jurors it will be Rianne Makkink, Sebastian Herkner, Sophie Lovell, Tobias Lutz and Harry Paul van lerssel.

Design students and young designers may take part of Pure Talents Contest if they have graduated within the last three years, i.e. after the 1st of January of 2014. Entries from groups up to three members are also welcome as long as each member meets the requirements in terms of their studies or degree.

The jury will select 20 nominees from all entries by mid-October. Each of the nominees will be given the title “Pure Talents Contest Nominee” and, will thus, will have the opportunity to present his/her prototype at imm cologne, from 15 to 21 January 2018. The jury will meet for a final time on the day before the trade fair opens to select the three winners from amongst the nominees. These will be then announced on the first day of the fair in an awards ceremony on “The Stage”. In addition to the award itself, the winners will receive prize money of €6,000.
