“Water. Energy. Life.” is the motto for the upcoming edition of the ISH which is going to take place from the 14th to the 18th of March of 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The ISH is the biennial trade fair, organized by Messe Frankfurt, for bathrooms, building services, energy and air-conditioning technologies, and renewable energies. The ISH is the leading trade fair for the sector and it will take place from the 14th to the 18th of March of 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany.
This year’s edition will have Turkey chosen by the organizer Messe Frankfurt and ISH conceptual partners, as partner country. The president and chief executive officer of Messe Frankfurt, Wolfgang Marzin, said that “with this decision, we have taken account of the increasing significance of Turkey at ISH on both the exhibitor and visitor sides”.
This year’s fair motto is “Water. Energy. Life” and under the water section the ´Bathrooms for People´ will be focusing design, health, wellness and comfort plus resource conservation and drinking-water hygiene.
At the Energy and Aircontec sections the key concerns will be with energy efficiency and the comfort in buildings. ´The energy revolution with a bright future – we have the solutions” is the slogan of theme that is bringing together digital heating systems and the associated integration of IT into innovative heating technologies. At Aircontec the emphasis will be on home-ventilation systems, energy efficiency and comfort in the home, central and decentral solutions for new buildings and new projects. Under discussion will be the technological challenges facing the air-conditioning and ventilation fields.
At ISH 2017 the international Design Plus competition will be showcasing 25 awarded products at the foyer of hall 4.2. The Messe Frankfurt reports that a international panel of seven experts has judged 154 submissions according to criteria that include, among others, design quality, overall concept, innovative content, choice of materials, as well as technical and ecological aspects. A sum of 106 companies, including 42 from Germany and 64 from abroad, took part in the competition. The judging panel has given the ‘Design Plus powered by ISH’ award to 25 products. The awards go to 14 German companies and designers, and to 11 participants from Australia, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and Spain.
The Design Plus competition was launched in 1983 by ‘Initiative Form und Leben’. The sponsors of this initiative are Messe Frankfurt, together with the German Design Council and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (Deutscher Industrie- und Handelskammertag – DIHK). Today the international competition is just as well-established at ISH as it is at the Light + Building fair, and it is one of the leading design competitions in Germany.
